Homemade Suet

Homemade Suet

OK, so not a “hot” treat, but definitely a recipe that’s high in fat and protein, aiding in generating heat and extra energy ideal for those chilly afternoons/evenings. Not to mention, Homemade Suet is one of the more “artsy” treats – You can freeze it onto a string, or pretty ribbon (as we’ve done!)

Feeds 5-6 chickens

– Cooked Brown Rice
– Bacon drippings
– Fresh Pumpkin scraps

Mix it all together, lay a string or ribbon through the middle, being sure to leave excess string at one end, ideal for hanging. Freeze overnight, and hang it in your chickens’ coop or run the next day. Easy!
